Charlie's Birthday

Here is the amazing cake I made. (It's a race track in case you can't tell!)

Charlie turned 2 last Monday. Someone must have told him he was turning 2 or something, because let me tell you, on the day of his birthday he turned into a two-year-old, attitude and ALL!!!

Playing with birthday balloon.

He actually threw that football in the picture below. What an allstar!

I love this smile. The little stinker.

Great job blowing out the candle.
Here is his super fun racetrack that we got him. They play with it every day. It's still a hit. I can't believe my baby is 2!!! Of course, I have another baby, but she is almost 1. Time is FLYING!

Gok

The many definitions of gok. If you are reading this, prepare to be schooled. What is a gok, you ask? Gok has many meanings if you are a two-year-old named Charlie Teed. It is definately an important word to add to your vocab. So let us begin. Context is key for the listener.
1. Goks and shoes.
2. The door is gokked.
3. Let's go on a gok.
4. Don't throw goks.
The other day I wanted to see what Charlie would think of first if I just said gok to him but Randy reminded me that Charlie doesn't hear gok, that's just what he says. Charlie hears:
1. Socks and shoes
2. The door is locked
3. Let's go on a walk
4. Don't throw rocks
He's a smart kid I tell you. He has figured out a shortcut to learning new words by just using one and making us figure out what he wants. My boy is a genius! Now I'm going to gok.

Sick of Sick

Here we are, still at home. If you need to find us we'll be here. Just hanging out at home. Great. So, last week I got sick. I had a fever for 4 days. It went away. Then on Friday Faye got a fever. Then, last night Charlie threw up several times in the middle of the night. He has a fever. Faye still has a fever. So, here we are. At home. The point is that I am sick of being sick and having sickness in our home. Just go away.

Take it ALL off

So a few weeks ago Mabel was whining and complaining about having to get her hair brushed. I was giving Charlie a bath at the time, so I am not sure if it was Randy's idea, he claims it was Mabel's. Well she asked me to cut her hair all off so we didn't have to brush it anymore. So here she is before. Isn't it beautiful?!
And here it is after. I was all for it because I am sooooooooooo sick of her whining when I brush it. She was disappointed when she found out that we still have to brush her hair. But it doesn't get as tangly as before. Now I am working on growing her bangs out. We'll see if I last. Usually I get too annoyed and end up cutting them. Wish me luck!

I know that Christmas was 3 weeks ago

Christmas was way super fun this year. It was so magical. I know I'm not going to be able to keep santa undercover for as long as I thought. I can't tell you how many times I let little things slip and Mabel would look at me and say "Isn't that Santa's job?" with those giant innocent eyes. Or just look at me like what's going on here?
Anyway, most of these are just cute pictures of the kids.
Since Christmas was like three weeks ago probably no one cares anymore. But aren't my kids cute?

Yup, great Christmas. Fun was had by all. Especially when Charlie went down for a nap, in his new toddler bed! Transition...successful! He loves his bed and it only took one night of locking him in his room for him to remember that you aren't suppose to get out of bed. It's just for sleeping. He does great and Faye likes her new bed too (Charlie's old crib)!

SNOW and ICE!

This year for Christmas Randy did not have enough time off to go visit family,(and a day long car ride with 3 small children did not sound enticing) but I still wanted to do something fun for our little family. Thus, we went to Nashville the day before Christmas Eve for a small adventure. We went to Gaylord Oprylands Snow and Ice display. ICE is a giant ice sculpture display with a different theme every year. This year the theme was an old kids movie about Santa Claus, I can't remember the name.
The room is kept a balmy 0 degrees. They give everyone a giant parka to wear over their coats. The ice is dyed different colors and it was truly amazing.
That is all ice. I'm totally serious. Doesn't it just blow your mind?! (Okay, upon closer observation the bike and the toys aren't ice, but still!)
Where's Katie and Mabel? Can you see us?
So cool...literally!
This is the scene where Mr. and Mrs. Claus are wed. How romantic, kinda weird actually. Faye is wrapped in a snuggly warm blanket.
Apparently they have an ice slide every year. Mabel actually got stuck going down. She wouldn't lean back onto her coat to slide faster and just slowly scooted down on her booty! That is her above just sitting there while the workers were asking her politely to move it along.
Randy went fast, of course!

At the very end of the ice display, they had a life size Nativity in clear ice. It was so beautiful! They had soft hymns playing. It was pretty cool to go from the fun santa story to the true meaning of Christmas. It was a nice touch!
Then we went outside and played in the snow made by a snow machine. We also got to meet santa's reindeer.

It was a great trip! Perfect for our little family. When Randy went to Utah in November, the angel, he got me a 5lb. bag of gummy worms from Smiths!!! Perfect for a road trip. What a man and what a trip!
